Sareth Brak
Sareth (born 1986) is the founder of Raise and Support the Poor and has been the organisation’s Director since its inception in 2008. At the age of ten, Sareth became a Buddhist monk. He graduated in Philosophy at Preah Sihnouk Raja University in Phnom Penh in 2010. He worked with various charity organisations such as Buddhist Education for Peace and Nonviolence Center (BEPNC) and Member for World Peace (MWP). He also worked as a teacher for Building the Future for Generations of Cambodia (BFGC) as well as for RSP itself, teaching mathematics, history, geography and English.
Sareth generally dedicates four days a week to managing RSP, although at times he spends weeks on end on project sites, supervising volunteers, or fundraising. He also works part-time at university or other high schools in order to earn a living for himself and his elderly mother.
Sareth is the heart and soul of RSP. He is committed to helping the poor and improving the lives of children in Cambodia so they may reach their fullest potential. In 2016, he was awarded the Audrey Hepburn Humanitarian Award for his work.
Teaching Staff
The RSP teaching staff are all from RSP’s own community. It includes several RSP alumni who decidate their free time to give back some of what they learned.
